𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙄𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙇𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝘼𝙁𝙍𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀𝙎 𝘼𝙇𝙈𝙊𝙎𝙏 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙂O𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙉

On the 4th of March 2023, ALCEF PARK ( ALCEF RIVIERA AMUSEMENT PARK) organized a rare event baptized ‘The Limbe Women’s Leisure Games!’

What was this event all about?

This event consisted of games that people born from the 2000s might be clueless about though these games preoccupied daily lives of young people especially those in rural areas in Cameroon.

Back in those days, with no phones nor watches, we knew where and when to meet exactly to play these games.

Though they were predominantly played by girls, I must tell you these games used to very interesting and could be developed and adopted in the Olympics.

These games included:

The #tabala which is a game where squares are drawn on the grown and ‘seed’ which could be considered the ball of the game is kicked by jumping on one foot sequentially from one square to the other without the ball stopping on the lines of the squares.

The #dodging, which consist of two people standing on two ends of a level field of about 10m with the goal to shoot someone in the middle with a soft ball! The number of times the person in the middle dodges the ball gives more points to his/her team.

The #Seven – #Seven, which is a game where seven small stones of almost the same size are thrown on the ground and subsequently pick them back in sequences by throwing one stone in the air!

That is, you have to pick the stone without touching the others and catching back the stone thrown in the air without it touching the grown!

This day at #alcef was so exciting as we had these women feel the nostalgia of their childhoods.

I mean, these are games that occupied them before the TV and radio became popular talk less of the #internet

Each category of the game had three winners awarded!

Entertainers such as One Rocky and Spaco Lee also spiced the event with a lot of fun!

#spaco is known to for making comedy out of the childhood songs that are almost forgotten
